Troop 493 Tidbits

No Collins this week! We will be meeting at Strike Ten Lanes at 645pm – 800 East Nerge Road, Roselle for 2 bowling games and shoe rental – Cost is $10.00
Cody Porter Eagle Service Project – I am collecting move in essential items for our Veterans such as body wash, cleaning products and other kitchen and bathroom items.
Collection is in progress – I’ve extended the date to late October hoping to collect more donations. If you have items to donate please let me know and I can arrange to pick up or you can drop off.
In late October I will have a date where the Scouts will come to my house and sort the items that I have collected. Shortly after that I will be delivering the collected items to my chosen Veterans Administration location. Please no food, appliances or furniture. Gift cards and cash donations are accepted and will be used to purchase items for the Veterans with special needs. Please feel free to pass this information to family and friends. Camping trip – Lake Shelbyville – Forrest W. ”Bo” Wood Recreation Area – October 11th-13th, 2019 – bring your fishing poles, warm weather gear. Leaving Collins on Friday at 530pm
Richardson’s Corn Maze – Saturday October 19th 5:30pm – 10:30pm Cost is $27 per person. We’ll establish our base camp in their picnic area and grill burgers and hot dogs over our own bonfire. From there, the boys can explore the farm. They can experience a live pig races show or get lost in the world’s largest corn maze (with their buddy of course). The 11-mile maze will feature images of two astronauts, the Columbia, the Eagle, an American flag, Earth, stars, and the words “Apollo 50”; “Richardson Farm”; and “Next Giant Leap” https://richardsonadventurefarm.com/AdventureFarm/Home
Halloween Party/New Scout visitation – Collins Gym – Wednesday October 30th 7pm-8pm – Come in costume and celebrate with fun and games. This is a recruiting event so feel free to invite your friends.
Bonfire and Flag Retirement Ceremony – November 1st 6:00pm to 8pm- Spring Valley Center at the Cabin – Please invite all the Webelos you know. The ceremony is incredible.
